Last week we had a super quick and unexpected visit from the Wyoming clan.
That somehow managed to wear everyone out, even Brynlie's pony.
Sometimes, I just need to let her figure crap out for herself. Not only to be a good parent, but because it's freaking funny.
Speaking of being a good parent...
Saturday I got super productive for about an hour and hung up a couple things on the walls. I know, right? I'm a machine. I can't be stopped. The first thing I got up was my medals.
They were important to get up; mostly because we kept tripping over them on our bedroom floor. Right now having them on display makes my heart hurt. 5 more months. 5 more months.
The weather has been super bi-polar here. Haha get it? Anyway, it's either super warm and sunny or pouring buckets of rain. The rainy days have forced us to stay inside and find ways to keep busy. It also forced me to make and eat cookie dough.
Truth be told the girls and I were just dying to try out my Kitchenaid Cory got me for Christmas, and no better time than a drizzly rainy day. I love it, by the way. The Kitchenaid AND the cookie dough.
The rainy days have made for some spectacular sunsets.
You know on the movie "Signs" where Mel Gibson is talking to his daughter in her room and he looks out the window and sees the shadow of an alien on the roof? Yeah... I think of that every single time I look out my bedroom window at the neighbors roof. One day there will be an alien silhouette, I just know it.
Another thing we finally got hung up is our family growth chart! We had to document their height for when we first moved into the house (or a couple weeks after...)
I got brave and took a pregnancy belly photo.
I'm actually really alarmed at how pregnant I look/feel already and I'm not even half way there. I'm terrified for the future. We hopefully find out the gender in 2 weeks and I have to say it is KILLING me waiting!!! I want to know so, so bad.
I discovered the other day that my phones camera has a "portrait" option so I started messing around with it a little bit. Kennedy and doggy looked beautiful as always as she practiced baby wearing.
Then I tried to get Brynlie on board
Nope. It's a cool setting though. I'll have to use it more often when I'm taking their photos.
Kennedy was playing in my parents backyard Sunday and came running in saying, "Guys! You have to see this!" She showed us a cool rock she found and it actually was pretty darn awesome. I let her keep it. That's saying a lot.
Speaking of pregnancy alarmingness, it's getting harder and harder for me to do anything in class at my gym. It's so unbelievably frustrating. I can't even tell you! I get out of breath so easily and just don't have the energy. I think for a while I'm going to have to rotate weight room days and cardio days. Today was a cardio day on the boring stationary bike. But it did the job I suppose. At least I can still do something, right?
So I looked up a recipe for a body sugar scrub today on Pinterest and gave it a whirl. I mixed 1 cup of white sugar, 1/4 cup melted coconut oil, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract and 6 drops of lavender essential oils.
I used it in the shower on my arms and legs and in the words of DJ Tanner, "OH MY LANTA!" It not only exfoliates super well, but the coconut oil left my body way moisturized and smooth. I love it! You have to give it a try.
I forgot the last time I ordered something from Fabletics that I also got a free one year subscription to Runners World magazine! My first issue came today and it was fun to flip through. Fun and sad at the same time.
And lastly, Kennedy got in trouble at dinner tonight for making a giant mess (she's too old for this crap!) and Brynlie decided she'd better do what she could to stay on our good side and cleared her dishes without being asked.
We didn't notice at first (Cory was still fuming and I was too engrossed in my mashed potatoes) so when she walked by our chairs so made sure to say "Look Mommy!" with a huge grin on her face. Atta girl! She really is adorable.
Well folks, that all for tonight. The girls are heading to bed early and we probably are, too. It's been another long day of being stuck inside because of rain.
See you, soon!
