Raining In the Bedroom

I woke up early today to get a run in. About 1 minute after I got up and was in the bathroom getting dressed, I heard Cory, who was supposed to be asleep, freak out and heard all kinds of commotion throughout the house. This was at 6:30 a.m.  Since I was naked, I couldn't really chase after him, but I threw on my running clothes and came out of the bathroom to see what had happened. Cory was running around all over the place and the ceiling in our bedroom was raining water everywhere.
Long story short, my dad, who is blind, was putting away his gallon of distilled water in their bedroom closet that didn't have a lid on it and didn't know it tipped over. The whole gallon seeped through the floor and came raining down in our room. Luckily we got everything cleaned up and we didn't have any broken pipes, but it was kind of a crazy morning. After the chaos was over I only had time to get in 3 miles before the kids woke up and we got ready for the gym.

Today was a pretty good day. I tried a new supplement that the guy at the store said I should take before I workout. It's not a preworkout, but it does help increase endurance. I felt amazing! As luck would have it, there was also a 20 minute run on the board today, so I got in a little over 2 more miles at the gym and didn't have to add more at home later. 5ish miles total for today, 5 tomorrow, 3 Friday, and 14 Saturday. Saturday is supposed to be a group run and I am pretty excited about it. I skipped running yesterday and I'm trying to make up for the missed miles.

Kennedy kind of had a rough day at the gym. She was scheduled for a doctors appointment in the afternoon and was due for her kindergarten immunizations. I debated for days about whether I should tell her before or wait till we got there. I told her this morning and that was NOT the right choice. She was so freaked out the whole day, so her emotions were just below the surface and everything upset her. It was sad. But swinging on the TRX straps cheered her right up.
Brynlie tried too, but her form just isn't there yet.
Fast forward through work, Brynlie biting Kennedy so hard she almost broke the skin, lunch, nap time, shower, and watching Star Wars again, it was time for the doctor appointment. She loved having her vitals taken, and soared through the eye exam, and was ready for the physical exam.
She's super healthy and their doctor is so amazing and made the checkup so fun for her. But then it was time for the "pokies". She handled the first one perfectly and didn't even cry, but the whooping cough shot was more painful and she crumbled. I thought shots with babies were hard, but it was really hard to have her cry. It made me tear up, too. But after a few minutes she calmed down and I promised her some ice cream afterward.
She loved picking out her ice cream and treat to mix in.

Then we headed to the house to see the work Daddy had done. We have a new front door!!
It's not done yet, obviously. We need to insulate the gaps around the door and add some molding and make it look nice, and then paint the door. It's so beautiful! I wish I could post a picture of the whole house. It looks so much better!!

I was having a dilemma because it looked so nice white, I wasn't sure I wanted to paint it. But then we found the Home Depot app where you can upload a picture and change the colors of things..
And we made a very rough draft of what the door will look like painted.
I like it painted, too. I think it'll look even better with white trim molding around it, so we decided we'll paint it and add some character to our house. That app is going to rock my world.

I tried a new paleo recipe for dinner tonight; beef and broccoli stir-fry. It was DELICIOUS!! I'm blogging from my phone so I can't link the blog with the recipe, but I'll try and get it up tomorrow.
Everyone gobbled it up though, even the kids! It's definitely a keeper!

I wanted to encourage comments and such on this blog. Let me know if you have any questions, ideas for posts, things you wanna tell me, etc. Also, if you like my blog, please share it with anyone you think might also like it. I would love to expand my pool of readers. Thanks!
