Freaky Friday

I never posted our shenanigans from working on the house the other night.
When doing home improvement projects, it's important to wear the right gear.
The shirt is nice and lengthy; you know, to avoid plumbers crack. It was a cold, rainy night, but I loved the view of the mountains from our house. I can't wait to live right by these suckers.
Most of the night I actually sat and watched Mr. Handsome do stuff like this while he mumbled measurements under his breath and asked me to repeat them to him later. I felt like an apprentice taking a test. Good thing I'm a freak when it comes to remembering numbers.
Our objective was to patch the walls and ceiling.
We didn't get as much done I I had hoped, but we did get the heavy ceiling pieces in, so that was a success.

Not joking, the only dry wall screw I put in.
Probably because I act like a total doofus (<---- I literally just had to google how to spell that) whenever I'm handed power tools.
It was fun to work on the house together again. I sense many more late nights coming soon.

This was Brynlie's fortune the other night from her cookie. Please, I'm begging you, say it isn't so!

Nothing says "sexy" quite like pulling out your weekly pill organizer every night. Cory is a lucky guy.

As predicted by yours truly, we woke up to snow. And I already had to repent at 7:30 a.m. from the language that followed this sight.
I told Kennedy it meant we wouldn't be going to work because there would be too much snow on the windshields to see parking passes. She looked at me like the doofus I am and said, "Just use a scraper!" She's too smart for her own good.

Since we didn't have work and it was a rest day, we lounged around in our PJ's and made protein pancakes and watched a movie.
After a while we decided we should probably leave the house and went to go turn in my time card and decided to go to lunch with my mom. While we were eating, in walked Kennedy's preschool teacher, again! I'm telling you, she and I have good taste because this is the 3rd store we've bumped into her at. It always makes Kennedy super happy, which makes me happy she loves school so much.

Next we went to Target. A snowy day is the perfect day to let the girls talk me into these, right?
In all seriousness, blue eyes are very sensitive to sunlight, so I'm hoping to keep their retinas nice and safe from being fried by the sun.

My main purpose for going to Target was to find some low-sugar food options and get yet another food scale. My first one didn't measure grams, my second one didn't work (first crappy thing I've ordered off amazon, ever) so third time's the charm, right? I used it for my protein shake though and it worked great. So hopefully it continues to do so.
Have you ever asked yourself, "Why does she ALWAYS wear her hair like that?" Well, today is your lucky day, because I'm about to answer your question. A few reasons: 1) I usually go to the gym and other than headbands it's the only hairdo that keeps my hair out of my face. 2) I lose a startling amount of hair. Like, no joke, it falls out constantly. If I wear it down I'm shedding all over the place which drives me nuts! So pulling it back prevents that. 3) It's kind of the only hairstyle I know how to do. So there you go, mystery solved.

The rest of the day was your classic lazy afternoon... I changed back into my PJ's, watched another movie, colored with Kennedy, took a 20 minute, unplanned nap, etc.

For dinner tonight though I tried a "skinny" version of fettuccine Alfredo.
It didn't taste a thing like Alfredo sauce but it was still really, really good. I'll definitely be making this one again! You can find the recipe here:

It made about 3.5 cups of sauce and for a 1/2 cup serving It was 89 calories, 3.5g fat, 6g carbs, and 6.7g protein. WAY better than actual Alfredo sauce.

For the rest of the evening I plan on getting serious with my foam roller, laying out my running clothes, and going to bed early. Tomorrow is a big day.

Peace out!
