Long Run, Long Day

If today doesn't count as a physically exhausting day then I don't know what does.

I was up at 6 a.m. to get ready for my long run. I always eat the same thing for pre-running fuel (for long distances, that is)
I realize this is a common thing many people eat, and for good reason. It gives me plenty of energy and tastes amazing. I remember going over to my friends house when I was about 9 and her mom made them peanut butter and banana sandwiches and I thought that sounded so gross. If only I could go back in time and tell little, awkward Megan just what she was missing out on. Yum!!

Then I was off to conquer 15 miles, dressed in all sorts of colors. I wish you could see my compression socks and shoes. Much less matchy-matchy.
It was a gorgeous day for a run. And I even got a little color on my shoulders from the sun! Once to clouds disappeared I was scared to death I was going to get fried (who remembers sunscreen in March?) but I ended up being ok. The run went well. The first 4 miles were uphill then the rest was basically flat. I got pretty achy towards the end because I forgot to bring ibuprofen but I powered through and finished!
After some stretching I rushed home for a quick shower and met up with Cory and the girls for lunch. And yes, I ate the entire thing.

We had lots to get done at the house today. We spent a lot of time and physical effort on ripping out some hideous bushes in the yard. They were enormous and we had to cut them down then pull them out with the truck. The first one wasn't awful.
But the other ones were a pain in the butt to get out. But finally, we did it.
We pruned trees and loaded up branches and stumps to take to the dump. It was a productive day and the house looks so much better without those ugly things!!

We came home pretty much on empty and had a quick dinner and showers and will probably have a bedtime that no respectable adult would admit to having. But it was a good day. Tomorrow we are moving stuff out of our storage unit so it'll be another hard-work day. But it'll be fun to see the stuff we've missed since last year.
